Peter Mogayzel has been the Director of the Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center since 2002 and medical director of the Pediatric Lung Transplantation Program since 1998. An associate professor of pediatrics, he attended Brown University and received his MD and PhD. degrees from Boston University. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Washington and served pediatric pulmonary and pediatric critical care fellowships at Johns Hopkins in 1998 before joining the faculty. The thrust of his research is on the regulatory properties of the CFTR gene. He is also a lung transplant specialist whose work in that field was showcased on ABC’s documentary Hopkins 24/7.

Margaret Rosenfeld, MD, MPH, is attending physician at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Her clinical interests focus on the diagnosis and management of respiratory illnesses in children of all ages. Her research program focuses on the assessment and treatment of early cystic fibrosis (CF) lung disease, including infant and preschool lung function tests, determining risk factors for early acquisition of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and clinical trials in infants with CF.


HARM TIDDENS, MD

Harm Tiddens holds the position of full Professor in Pediatric Pulmonology at the department of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine, Erasmus Medical Center-Sophia Children’s Hospital. Professor Tiddens is since 1997 the director of CF research of the Erasmus MC-Sophia CF-center. He did his PhD both at the Erasmus MC and at the Pulmonary Research Laboratory at St Paul's Hospital, University of British Columbia, Vancouver on "Structure and Function of Chronically Inflamed Human Airways". He is heading a structure function research group that focuses on the development of imaging (CT and MRI) related end points to monitor chronic lung diseases such as cystic fibrosis (CF). Prof. Tiddens has been appointed an honorary position with the department of radiology. He has been appointed a visiting professorship at the department of Pediatric Pulmonology of the Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, University of Western Australia study the development of imaging related end points for early CF lung disease. He is editorial board member for Pediatric Pulmonology and is a regular reviewer for major respiratory journals and various funding bodies. He has been a member of the board of the International Society for Aerosol Medicine, co-initiator and co-organizer of the ERS-ECFS basic and advanced CF course. He was co-founder and member of the executive committee of the European CF Society Clinical Trial Network. He published over 125 papers in peer reviewed journals and contributed chapters to over 35 books.

Donna Peeler received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland. Donna began her nursing career in the NICU at Johns Hopkins in 1979. She was the Nursing Supervisor and Co-Owner of a Pediatric Nursing Agency company in Baltimore, MD. Since 1988 she has worked with CF and pulmonary patients in the outpatient setting at the Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center.


CLAIRE WAINWRIGHT, MBBS, MRCP, FRACP, MD

Claire Wainwright is a paediatric respiratory physician and head of cystic fibrosis services at the Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane Australia which manages around 320 children with CF either directly or in shared care with outreach services. She is Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health and interim Director at the Queensland Children’s Medical Research Institute with the University of Queensland. She started her medical and paediatric training in London and completed her training in paediatric respiratory medicine and doctoral studies at the Royal Children’s Hospitals in Brisbane and Melbourne. Her research interests include clinical trials, early lung disease, airway microbiology, metabolic problems and patient reported outcomes in CF.

Mike Boyle attended the University of Maryland and received his MD from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed both his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins. His awards include the Clinical Research Award and the Shwachman Award, both from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition to his role as director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program, he is director of education and fellowship recruiting for the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

Meghan Ramsay has been with The Johns Hopkins Hospital for 13 years, previously as a staff nurse and currently as a nurse practitioner. She has been with the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program for the past six years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valparaiso University and her Master of Science in Nursing from The Johns Hopkins University. She is a certified nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a current member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland.
